Food for the Chinese New Year

Posted by

Goodbye Year of the Dragon, hello Year of the Snake. Tonight is New Year’s Eve on the Chinese Lunar Calendar and we’re anticipating a feast (in addition to the firecrackers we may or may not set off...). Traditionally, tonight is marked by a big family dinner followed by time spent together making dumplings.

We’re not celebrating for the full two weeks (for fear of exploding from the endless recipe possibilities), but we are breaking out the wok tonight for this special occasion. Click through to get ideas on what to include in your own spread.

Chinese Noodles with Sesame Dressing

Sweet-and-Sour Pork Stir-Fry

Wonton Soup

Pork-and-Chive Potstickers

Pork Egg Rolls

We tried the penne with tomatoes and pancetta last night, and today I shared the link for the recipe with 8 friends. It was beyond delicious, and so incredibly easy. This will become part of our pasta rotation. Thank you for coming up with such a wonderful recipe.
