
This week's WTF is one of my favorite healthy desk-drawer snacks. Here's a hint: You've actually probably eaten this food before, but maybe not in this wrinkly-looking form. Any guesses? Get the answer after the jump.
It's an unsulphured dired apricot!
Dried fruit is usually treated with sulphur dioxide, a preservative that keeps the fruit soft and colorful. Apricots without the sulphur are darker and more shriveled. Personally, I prefer the slightly more sour taste and chewy texture of unsulphured dried apricots. It's like eating one of my favorite sour candies! (Or so I tell myself.)
