Five Almost-Instant Appetizers

Posted by

It's holiday crunch time! Whether you're looking for a quick appetizer to add to a party menu or to whip-up because guests are knocking at the door, we have five staff-favorites that fit the bill.

1. Pear-and-Prosciutto Bites
Cut ripe pears into wedges and wrap with thin strips of prosciutto.

2. Apple-Trout Canapes
Thinly slice Granny Smith apples into rounds and top with sour cream and smoked trout. Feeling extra-fancy? Caviar makes a great garnish!

3. Salami and Pickle Roll-UpsĀ
Spread a little whipped cream cheese on a slice of salami, place a cornichon on top, and roll up.

4. Fried Almonds
Fry whole blanched almonds in olive oil until golden brown. Drain, sprinkle with salt, and serve warm.

5. Pecan-Crusted Goat Cheese
Roll a log of goat cheese in chopped pecans, minced fresh rosemary, and coarse salt. Drizzle with honey and bake until soft and warm. Serve with crackers and more honey, if desired.

This is so great! The apple with smoked trout is really interesting- I would have never thought of pairing the two together, I will have to try that sometime!
