weighty topics: eat more fruit

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, we know, but that's especially true for me. I work out a lot. I mean A LOT. If I'm not happy with my performance during my evening exercise, I will get up at 5 in the morning and do it again, just to get it right. I get giddy in anticipation for a 2-a-day. I understand it might border on dysfunction, but whatever, it makes me happy. That's why breakfast has to be hydrating and full of fiber and nutrients.

Right now, I'm all about stone fruit, and local varieties are all over the place here in New York. This morning, breakfast was a bowl of pluot, white peach and blueberries. Top it with a dollop of yogurt and a small handful of granola, and you have a big breakfast filled mostly with good stuff and an accent of the fun stuff.

Let the seasons dictate your diet. In about 4 weeks, I'll be adding apples and pears to the mix as the blueberries and peaches start to fade away. Also, I am loving the KIND granola right now. The clusters are big and very crunchy. I tend to cycle between that and Back to Nature, which also a great granola.

    Greek yogurt and granola! You're right, though. You have to be vigilant about portioning the granola.

    This breakfast look appetizing and healthy, I am always trying to add more fruits and veggies to my diet. A 2 a day, that is a good day. I am off to start my one a day!
