Happy National Shrimp Day!

Posted by

Technically today is the official day to celebrate all things shrimp, though it doesn't seem like Americans need an "official day" - we eat about 1.7 billion pounds of the crustacean per year, making it the most popular seafood in the country! Quick-cooking and low in calories, shrimp is delicious in salads, on sandwiches, or sautéed and tossed with pasta. Check out some of our favorite recipes to celebrate tonight.

Grilled Shrimp with Cilantro, Lime, and Peanuts

The style of the dish is Vietnamese, but the shrimp is pure Louisiana.

Sesame Orange Shrimp

This recipe is a better version of the Chinese take-out favorite.

Spicy Shrimp and Tomato Pasta

Sautéed shrimp and zesty tomato sauce go perfectly together in this quick dinner.

Shrimp Roll

This shrimp-filled take on Maine's classic lobster roll is just as tasty as the original but a lot lighter on the wallet.

Shrimp and Avocado Ceviche

Serve with tortilla chips for a refreshing appetizer.

Chopped Salad with Shrimp and Lime-Buttermilk Dressing

Salad is a lighter choice that's still full of crisp shrimp.
