Cocktail or cure for the common cold? This nightcap has soothed some sore throats and quelled plenty of coughs on our staff.
In a mug, stir together 2 ounces bourbon, 1 ounce lemon juice, and 1 tablespoon honey. Add 1/4 cup boiling water and stir until honey dissolves. Garnish with a lemon twist. Makes 1 drink.

This is a godesend during cold/flu season and I have used it for years.
When the girls were younger I would replace the bourbon (actually used Jack Daniels) and added Vernors ginger ale in its place.
For me same recipe, and I add the Vernors ginger ale and heat it in the microwave in a 4 Cup glass measuring cup. Serer warm and sip away the symtoms.

During my childhood, my mom fixed us a hot toddy, but with less than a spoonful of burbon. She always used Jim Beam. A hot toddy is still my go-to for a bad cough or cold; adult portion of Jim Beam.
