In our May issue, Martha shared her favorite recipe for French toast, and was photographed making the dish step-by-step in our studio. It's a great recipe! Here's a gallery of images from the sunny shoot day that goes through set-up to demo.
1 Setting up, with lots of spoons and bowls for Martha to choose from. In the end, she preferred a big, shallow dish for soaking the bread slices.
2 Pots and pans to choose from. Martha likes to make her French toast in a straight-sided saute pan.
3 Even the countertops and cabinets had to be filled with pretty props.
4 A pretty, citrus-y countertop array.
5 Martha chose the Green Wind syrup in the middle. It's DELICIOUS!
6 Brioche bread from Balthazar bakery. Buttery and tender.
7 Our prop stylist, Amy, making sure everything looks perfect.

9 Matthew Hranek captured every step of the process (and our videographer, Philip, captured him!).

My husband just loves French toast - I will use this recipe tomorrow morning for breakfast with our yummy Canadian maple syrup!
Loving the white kitchen too - will have to renovate mine one day.
