In honor of William and Kate's royal wedding that took place earlier this morning (yes, I did wake up at 3:00 am to watch it!), I decided to make a traditional English breakfast, fully equipped with eggs, roasted potatoes, sauteed mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, bacon, and toast. Traditionally, a full English breakfast consists of several courses including a first course of cereals, juices, and fresh or stewed fruits, a main course of meat and eggs (the meal I made this morning), and, not surprisingly, tea. And while many times the main course may contain baked beans or black pudding, I felt that I had enough on my plate already. So if you missed the morning's wedding festivities, curl up to some re-runs tonight and try whipping up an English breakfast for dinner. With these recipes for baked beans, roasted fingerling potatoes, grilled tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, you'll feel simply royal.
