it's here: Everyday Food for the iPad!

Posted by Carla Lalli Music

march_ipad_launchWe're SO excited to announce the launch of our first digital edition for the iPad! It's got everything you love about Everyday Food—tons of simple recipes, tips, tricks and how-tos—but now with interactive extras you can only get on the iPad, like more than a dozen demo videos with our editors. Plus neat features like slideshows, shopping lists, the ability to e-mail every single recipe, and fun, behind-the-scenes footage that lets you peek inside the test kitchen. March is our fast issue, and this year we've got more than 40 super-quick recipes to check out.

We're hoping to make digital editions available on other platforms down the road, but in the meantime, if you've got an iPad, please download the March issue and let us know what you think!

  • That's so exciting but if I already get the Everyday Food magazine will I have to pay again to get it on my ipad?

  • A cool idea, but doesn't Apple take (yikes!)30% of iPad magazine subscription revenue?

  • Have just downloaded everyday food onto iPad and none of the videos run. They run on other Martha mags????

  • Author Comment:

If you have trouble playing video it could be caused by a memory limitation. Try shutting down your device and then opening the app again.

  • I bought the iPad version and it is very well done. All vids run just fine. I think you've done a fabulous job. It did, however, take an extraordinarily long time to download. (I have a very fast cable connection, so I'm hoping it was a one time thing.)
The magazine itself, though, visuals, text & navigation is one of the best I've seen yet for iPad.

  • I love the EDF version on my iPad even more than the magazine. When will the subscription be available? Waiting for April, May, etc.

  • Author Comment:

Hi there--so glad you like the digital issue! April will be released very soon, and a new issue will be available every month subsequently. Unfortunately, we have no way to offer readers a subscription to the digital issues; they have to be downloaded one by one as they are released. Hope this answers your question.

  • Love this, but if I already subscribe to the paper edition (your bread & butter), you should offer some sort of discount for the digital editions. After all, People gives them to you for free.
