Monday would have been my grandmother's 86th birthday. A spunky lady, she maintained an arsenal of irresistible snacks and hors d'oeuvres that my family will be making for generations to come. Most famous is her garlic dip, essentially a blend of cream cheese, milk and (a scary amount of) garlic powder. It sounds a little less than appetizing but I assure you the next generation of Perry's are already hooked.
While any potato chip will do Utz potato chips are the ideal companion and I've found their ripple chip (my Aunt's preference) makes an extra sturdy vehicle. I encourage you to give it a try--there's no recipe, just trial and error. Add enough milk to room temperature cream cheese to make it dip-able and as little (or as much) garlic powder as you enjoy. Make a lot, thank me later.

Chives look like they'd be a great addition. Even dried ones.

Where do I find the recipe?

Hi Melinda,
There's no formal recipe. Just start with a block or 2 of softened cream cheese (not whipped) and add enough milk to get it to your preferred dip consistency. Then add garlic powder to taste (I'd start with a teaspoon and go from there). Enjoy!
