Come on, we keep it family friendly here.
Perhaps you remember our last mystery food encounter, the green almond? We had a LOT of great guesses and quite a few guessed correctly. Ready to play again????

As always, the item in question is something that most everyone has tried at least once in their life in some way, shape or form. Here is a second shot:

UPDATE:
The correct answer is.....COFFEE BEANS!!!!
Congratulations Sheri for guessing correctly!
I took these photos at a small coffee plantation near the North Shore of Oahu in Hawaii late last year. The fruits ripen and then are picked, washed and some are soaked in water depending upon the type of roast they will go through and wether they beans will be decaffeinated.
The fruits are dried and cured on the large screens in the greenhouse-like structures that you see in the pictures and then tumbled to remove debris and roasted.

Doesn't look like fig leaves to me.(Those leaves in the foto would not cover up much.) I will guess avocado.
