granola2A few years ago, I started making granola based on a recipe from Kathleen Daelemans (and haven't bought a store brand since). The recipe is so simple, as you just dissolve brown sugar in water in the microwave, toss the sugar syrup with rolled oats and nuts, then bake. Once it's out of the oven, you can add dried fruit. What I love about the recipe is that it's so easy to customize: I add spices like cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg to the sugar syrup. I never use the same nut or dried fruit—it's whatever I have in my lazy Susan. My favorite dried fruit combo is cherries, apricots, and cranberries. I even added chocolate chips to the mix once, to take to the movies. I reuse the dried fruit and nut containers to store the mixture, and then give it out as presents. What's your favorite granola recipe?

I love the simplicity of this recipe. Thank you for sharing it. My mother in law swears by this 17 ingredient granola. I'll give it to her, it is delicious, but it is too fussy and involved for me and the ingredient list is just ridiculous. This is way more my speed. Thanks!

Yum! Mine has pecans, coconut and cranberries in it. The recipe is here (at the bottom, below the how to on homemade yogurt) http://yardtofork.wordpress.com/2009/10/18/homemade-yogurt/

This recipe is really simple! I don't really have a favorite recipe that I like over another bc I enjoy just about any type of granola :) Anything with oats, sugar, and nuts :) Tastes great to me!

This recipe is pretty tasty. I love granola and have tried quite a few different kinds. So far my favorite is granola is from a Olde Man Granola. It is soooo delicious and they even have gluten free granola if you email and ask them for it they will even do fat free and sugar free. They have free recipe's too!
