We love seeing how our recipes turn out in the "real world", and have to give an online high-five to the guys at The Bitten Word, who braved one of the biggest snowstorms in recent history and supermarket pandemonium to gather ingredients for the Black Forest Upside-Down Cake (Jan/Feb issue). We love the commitment! We also applaud them for thinking on their feet: when jarred sour cherries could not be found (low inventory due to pre-blizzard shopping blitz), they substituted canned Oregon cherries. We think the results are gorgeous, don't you? Bravo!
