Hot cocoa and toasty coasters
Via the Purl Bee, a beautiful shop and online resource for knitters and crafters, we bring you news of a great event being held this evening as part of the 18th Annual City Bakery Hot Chocolate Festival. This year's theme is "How to Knit a Marshmallow" and tonight's very special event brings hot chocolate and the art of knitting together. Drink all the hot chocolate your heart desires while attending 5 knitting workshops and one demonstration hosted by six of the city's knitting shops. Dinner and dessert is included in the ticket price. Does it get any better than this?
For any of you who live in or have visited New York City during the month of February, you may already be familiar with City Bakery's Hot Chocolate extravaganza; this month-long event is a joyful and overabundant celebration of hot chocolate and home-made marshmallows. In years past, the Bakery has even shut down their block in the Flatiron District and installed a temporary skating rink out front! They feature a different flavor of hot chocolate every day of the month, including Chinese Cinnamon, Chili Pepper, and Darkest Dark, along with their signature pies, tarts, cookies (the chocolate chip is amazing).
If you're in NYC tonight, check it out. If not, be sure to include City Bakery and the Purl Bee on your next trip to the Big City.

Love the "strung up" marshmallows! The knitted hot pads are great too!
